Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) is best known for its lithium battery powered vehicles. The company is not only focusing on developing and manufacturing 100-percent battery powered modes of transportation, but is also taking strides to implement its knowledge to create the world’s first truly hybrid home.

The Hybrid Living Home is located in Alberta, Canada, and combines the latest in alternative and renewable energy features. The Hybrid Living Home is not a simple prototype, but one that exemplifies luxury living. The French Country style home consists of six bedrooms, a nanny suite, seven bathrooms, a media room, a wine cellar, and a family/recreation area spread over 6,000 square feet of living space on three levels. To provide sufficient power to the home, a number of alternative energy systems have been incorporated into the Hybrid Living Home’s design.

A solar electric system will harness the sun’s rays to be directly converted into electricity. This reliable and maintenance-free source of power will use traditional roof solar panels and Power-Spar, which is a revolutionary technology that can provide electricity and thermal storage for use in heating.

A geothermal system will be used for the home’s climate control, since ground or groundwater temperature several feet under the Earth’s surface is constant year-round. Geothermal pipes buried underground will absorb the earth’s heat during the winter and carry it into the home. During the summer months, the system will absorb the home’s heat and deposit it into the cooler ground.

Wind turbines will capture the kinetic energy of the winds and convert it to electricity. The Hybrid Living Home will have a roof-mounted turbine, as well as a 150 kW remote turbine, which will provide electricity. In the event that excess energy is created, the excess power will be diverted to the local utility company for use by other consumers.

Lithium I-Cell batteries, which produce about twice the voltage of an average battery, will be used to store the power generated. The lithium cells not only produce more voltage, but also last twice as long as traditional batteries.

The design of the house was as thoroughly thought out as the power elements in the home. The orientation of the home allows it to maximize its ability to capture solar and wind energy. Low flow faucets, toilets, and showerheads, in conjunction with the rainwater harvesting system, allows for lower water usage. The use of low power, high- efficiency appliances and low-voltage, European lighting fixtures will assist in keeping daily power consumption down as well.

The Hybrid Living Home team also utilized more health conscious materials to finish the home. Natural fiber carpet were tacked into place rather than glued into place. Formaldehyde free insulation, low-VOC paints, and water based adhesives minimized “off-gassing”. A waterfall provides a natural humidifying effect, while a high-efficiency air system with UV and ionic filtration keeps the interior dust and allergen free.

Once the home is completed, Hybrid Technologies will open the Hybrid Living Home for public viewing for about a year. During that time, it will analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of all the systems for the possibility of future Hybrid Living Subdivisions.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) - The Ultimate Growth Story

It’s been said that oil over 100 dollars per barrel is the single greatest problem of our time. From fostering food inflation to creating terrorist opportunities, expensive energy affects everyone on the planet. So it’s of no surprise that when an investor finds a company that offers up the exact remedy for such a huge problem, he gets easily excited.

Each day, China is putting 20,000+ gasoline or diesel fuel vehicles on the road. The demand for oil in all its forms, from kerosene (used in jet fuel) to gasoline, propane, and butane is breaking historical records on a daily basis. With that in mind, imagine a company that can provide a vehicle that takes oil out of the equation, and saves money doing it. This is exactly what Hybrid Technologies Inc. is doing. Hybrid, trading under the symbol HYBR, is a research and development company focused on and engaged in the development of electric-powered vehicles and other products. Hybrid uses proprietary lithium ion battery packs, and unique battery management modules, to convert vehicles from conventional gasoline and diesel fuel systems to electric power.

First let’s look at the demand side of the equation. Is there a demand for what they provide? Up until very recently, the answer has actually been no. When oil was 10 dollars a barrel ten years ago, and we weren’t in a global war against terror, cutting back on the use of oil was simply not an immediate issue. But the world has changed mightily in ten years and now oil is 115 dollars per barrel and gasoline in Europe is the equivalent of $9.00 per gallon. Here in the States, diesel is over $4.10 nationally and gasoline is hovering around $3.50.

In many ways, the prices are crippling the middle class, and they are clamoring for change. In a lot of families, choices are being made every day - choices such as “if we go out to dinner tonight, we can’t afford to fill the car this week”. In major cities around the world, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Rome and a hundred others, having an electrically powered vehicle that uses no oil, and runs for pennies per mile, makes perfect sense.

Why would the average person, living in “any City, USA” want an electric vehicle? The answer is simple. It will cut down on our nation’s oil hunger, cut down on a family’s expenses, and contribute to a healthier environment. It doesn’t get much better than that. So first let’s look at cost savings on the energy itself. If you have a car that’s getting a really good gas mileage of, say, 30 miles to the gallon, and gasoline is costing you $3.50 per gallon, your cost per mile is close to 12 cents per mile, just for energy. (Over in Europe, their cost per mile on the same vehicle is 31 cents per mile).

Now instead, let’s say you can drive an all-electric vehicle that utilizes a 35kWh battery pack, and can travel 120 miles on a single charge. If we use an off peak example of 10 cents per kilowatt hour, even a completely dead battery would be fully charged and ready to deliver for fewer than 4 cents per mile. That’s a significant savings, almost 70 percent at times.

On top of the energy savings, there is the maintenance savings on the vehicle itself. An electric vehicle has one tenth the parts of a combustion engine car, and this removes all the bothersome, high ticket repairs. With only one moving part in an electric motor, you no longer need oil, spark plugs, ignition systems, converter boxes, transmissions, differentials, exhaust systems, catalytic converters and a host of other high maintenance items that are sure to break at some point. The old adage that “less is more” is certainly true when it comes to the electric vehicle.

Hybrid Technologies has been working for years to bring the best batteries, along with the best battery management systems, to market, and their recent developments have been home runs. The world is energy starved and clamoring for the very product that Hybrid has developed. The demand is there, and the demand is growing during each and every uptick in the oil market. The demand is growing from those concerned about our environment and our impact on the climate. The demand is also there from people who adore the simplicity of a “solid state” car, with very few parts to break down. This is a global story, and Hybrid is positioned perfectly to capitalize on the demand and growth of this exciting industry.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Sees Shorters Cover as Share Price Continues to Increase

On the 18th of last month, we reviewed the heavy short position in Hybrid Technologies stock when it was trading for approximately $3.50. Since then the stock has continued its bullish uptrend, reaching a high of $4.65 earlier this week; a 32.9% increase. Those who have shorted have appeared to recognize the value and potential of this stock as reported numbers have shown a reduction in shorted shares.

As explained earlier, shorting is the opposite of buying. Instead of buying and then selling at a later date, a trader sells shares he doesn’t have and then later buys them back from the broker. This puts the trader in a risky situation, since a positive announcement from the company would attract great buying pressure and spike the price per share, causing those who are short to lose on the trade.

The company was recently given a $5.30 target price by SISM Research as well as a ‘Speculative Buy’ Rating. SISM Research analyst Ernest C. Schlotter stated, “Electric powered vehicles will quickly gain meaningful share in the worldwide light vehicle market due to rising energy costs and increased emissions regulations. Hybrid Technologies is an emerging leader in the development and marketing of lithium-powered products worldwide and could benefit from this trend.”

Continuing he said, “Currently, the market is limited because of high prices, but this technology has the potential to become mainstream as production volume increases. Subsequently, vehicle prices should decline.”

Hybrid Technologies Inc. (HYBR.OB) Featured on WCCB TV-18 Fox News Rising Morning Show

Hybrid Technologies, a clear leader in the field of lithium battery powered products, was featured yesterday during a live remote broadcast of WCCB TV-18 Fox News Rising morning show. FOX News Rising is a top-rated morning show in the Charlotte, North Carolina and surrounding area featuring local businesses and special interest news topics.

After a firsthand test drive of the company’s Liv RUSH, a two-door, race-inspired sports car that can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, morning host Jon Wilson emphatically said, “You don’t have to convince me…I’m sold on these vehicles and this technology!” Once Wilson climbed into the carbon fiber frame of the RUSH, he was blown away. He didn’t quite get to hit the car’s top speed of 108 miles per hour, but he did feel the rush and experienced the performance that the company’s products have to offer. The segment is over eight minutes long, and can be watched on the web by visiting http://www.hybridtechnologies.com/fox-080514.

Wilson also displayed Hybrid Technology’s Liv FLASH, which is the company’s electric version of the Mini-Cooper, and the company’s very own Liv WISE sedan. The segment ended with Wilson signing off as he drove off into the sunset in the Liv Wise. This is not Hybrid’s first television appearance. They have recently been featured on the nationally televised program, Treasure HD, on the Dish satellite network. During their open house this year, Hybrid was also given a segment on North Carolina’s CBS Affiliate WBTV. As gas prices continue to climb and people look for alternative fuel vehicles, Hybrid Technologies products almost sell themselves.
